We Offer Loan Cars with Services and Repairs

You may well have seen one of the many distinctive Coles cars buzzing around the Sussex area, and that’s because the Coles loan car fleet is one of the largest in the south of England, with over 20 vehicles available, including 2 fully electric vehicles.

Meet the Fleet

From our incredibly popular and fun to drive Volkswagen Up our loan cars and vans include a wide range of makes, models and sizes (both automatic and manual), meaning there’s almost certainly one to fit your motoring needs and help to keep you or your business on the road.

If you don’t need a car while we make your repairs we offer a collection and delivery service within a five-mile radius – that includes Henfield, Steyning and Upper Beeding – making the process just that little bit easier.

Dog-friendly Loan Cars

We’re a dog friendly garage, so it’s important to us that your dog travels comfortably and safely. If you need to transport your pooch we offer a range of dog-friendly cars, please get in touch and we will be happy to provide one. (These cars are fully valeted after use).

Electric Loan Vehicles

Our fully electric Seat Mii and VW van are available on request, they are always popular so please book in advance if you’d like to try the Coles green option.

Keeping your Business on the Road

As a small business we understand how vital it is to keep yours running smoothly. If your vehicle breaks down we can offer a selection of commercial vehicles so your business doesn’t suffer. Our range of commercial vehicles includes Volkswagen Caddys, as well as a Volkswagen Transporter.

Our cars are all non-smoking and we respectfully request that you replace any fuel you use and keep mileage to local trips. A small collision damage waiver insurance fee of £15 will be added to your final invoice. Available to drivers at our discretion.

Terms and Conditions of Loan Car Use          

Insurance & Driving Declaration

The customer confirms they hold a valid UK driving licence, are legally entitled to drive, will drive safely and responsibly, and will not allow any unauthorised driver to use the vehicle.

Use of Vehicle

The vehicle is for normal road use only. It must not be used for racing, competitions, towing (unless agreed), carrying hazardous goods, or taken outside the UK without prior permission. Smoking or vaping is not permitted in any Coles vehicles.

Loan vehicles are provided for local use only. In the event of a breakdown or recovery requirement, Coles Automotive Ltd will provide recovery assistance within a 15-mile radius of our premises. Any journeys beyond this radius must be agreed with Coles Automotive Ltd before the vehicle is taken.

Fuel Policy

The vehicle is supplied with approximately ¼ tank of fuel. The customer agrees to return the vehicle with no less than this level. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a £25 plus VAT refuelling administration fee will be charged. Fuel levels are verified using photographs taken at hand-over and on return. Returning a vehicle with low fuel requires staff time, increases operating costs, and may delay the next customer.

Condition of Vehicle

The vehicle must be returned in the same condition (fair wear and tear excepted), clean, and roadworthy. The customer is responsible for any loss, damage, or negligence during the period of use.

Insurance Excess & Liability

The customer agrees to be responsible for any damage to the loan vehicle and may be liable for costs up to the applicable insurance excess. The customer may also be charged for any uninsured losses or costs resulting from misuse, negligence, or breach of these terms.

Fines, Penalties & Charges

The customer is responsible for all parking fines, speeding penalties, congestion charges, or any other fines incurred during the loan period. Coles Automotive Ltd reserves the right to pass on these charges and apply an administration fee where necessary.

Breakdown / Accident Procedure

In the event of a breakdown, contact Coles Automotive Ltd immediately. In the event of an accident, notify the company as soon as possible, do not admit liability, and provide full third-party details.

Return of Vehicle

The vehicle must be returned on the agreed date and time, with approximately ¼ tank of fuel, and in a clean, roadworthy condition. Late returns or failure to meet these conditions may result in additional charges.
